Limitations

The AI Assistant does not currently support the following. If you have questions about any of these limitations, contact Files.com Support.

  • Media file contents. The assistant cannot read or analyze the contents of media files, including images, video, audio, and scanned documents. It cannot perform OCR, extract text from scans, or inspect visual content. If you need to apply metadata based on information in a media file, provide the field values directly in your request instead.
  • No web access. The assistant cannot browse the web or fetch content from external URLs. Its access is limited to your Files.com account data and the Files.com documentation knowledge base.
  • No chat history across sessions. Starting a new chat, logging out, or being timed out ends the session and the conversation cannot be resumed. Each new session starts fresh.
  • Child Sites. The assistant cannot access Child Sites. Site Administrators cannot use the assistant on a parent site to query or take actions on a Child Site. To use the AI Assistant on a Child Site, log in to that Child Site directly.
