Files.com is one of the fastest ways to transfer files to, from, and between Asia, Europe, and Africa.
We’ve invested heavily in a global acceleration network with points of preesnce in Asia and Europe (with strategic proximity to Africa and the Middle East).
Most file transfer protocols, such as FTP, SFTP, and WebDAV, are fundamentally based on the TCP protocol, whose maximum speed throughput is sensitive to round trip ping time, which is determined mostly by physical distance. By having a server with closer physical proximity, we are able to reduce the lag time and speed up your file transfers.
When you or your customers use Files.com, you are automatically routed to the server nearest them that will provide the fastest speeds.
You still get to choose where data is stored at rest
Even though the closest servers are used for acceleration purposes, Files.com still stores your data in the region/jurisdiction that you feel is most appropriate for your business.
Files.com allows you to balance speed considerations with the ever-changing web of global data sovereignty and privacy regulations.
Customers can choose to have their data stored at rest in any of the following regions:
Which plan should I choose?
The global acceleration feature comes included with our Enterprise plan. With the Enterprise plan, customers can select 2 regions and dictate on a per-folder basis where those files are stored.
Additionally, Files.com customers on the Enterprise Premier plan can also enjoy global acceleartion, and their also able to utilize all of the available storage regions simultaneously with no restrictions.
