SFTP
The secure protocol most partners reach for. Tested against OpenSSH, WinSCP, Cyberduck, Paramiko, .NET, and the long tail of clients partners actually bring. SCP is supported too, for clients that need it.
FTPS
FTP wrapped in TLS encryption, in every common mode. When a partner’s system only speaks FTP but your security rules require encrypted traffic, FTPS is the answer, so you onboard that partner without bending the rules.
FTP
Plain FTP for the legacy partner who has nothing else. It is supported but turned off by default, so you opt in deliberately rather than leaving an unencrypted door open.
WebDAV
The protocol that lets a folder mount as a network drive in Windows, macOS, or Linux. Partners and apps that speak WebDAV connect to the same files, no extra client to install.
AS2
The protocol big retailers and supply-chain partners mandate for EDI. Files.com handles AS2 with signed, encrypted payloads and MDN receipts, so every exchange is acknowledged and you can prove a partner received the file.
S3 Protocol
Any app, SDK, or CI pipeline that speaks the Amazon S3 API can read and write to Files.com directly. Point it at the endpoint and it works like an S3 bucket, so you connect existing tools with no code to rewrite.

Need to reach storage in your own datacenter? The Files.com Agent connects that on-prem storage to your SFTP endpoint over an outbound-only connection — no inbound port to open, no DMZ. Either way the partner sees an ordinary SFTP endpoint; you decide where the data lives.
