Accessibility

Accessibility matters when employees, partners, customers, or other people need to use Files.com with assistive technology or alternative ways of interacting with software. Government, education, healthcare, and commercial procurement processes may also specify accessibility requirements. Establish the product experience people will use and the criteria your organization needs to evaluate.

The Files.com web application conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Level Access independently assesses the logged-in web application annually and produces the accessibility report customers request as a VPAT. Keeping the platform usable by everyone is a standing commitment.

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)External LinkThis link leads to an external website and will open in a new tab define testable accessibility criteria and conformance levels. A version and level are both meaningful: a statement about WCAG 2.1 Level AA does not establish conformance to every later version or every Level AAA criterion.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) establishes legal obligations; WCAG supplies technical criteria used in accessibility evaluation. The U.S. Department of Justice's web accessibility guidanceExternal LinkThis link leads to an external website and will open in a new tab explains the ADA context. Federal procurement can also specify Section 508 requirements. Identify the law, contract, or procurement standard applicable to your organization, then compare it with the report's actual coverage.

Assessment Scope

Our April 1, 2026 report uses VPAT Version 2.5Rev and covers WCAG 2.0 and WCAG 2.1 at Levels A and AA. The assessment uses Chrome and the NVDA screen reader on Windows.

The assessed product is the Files.com web application's logged-in experience. The marketing website, Desktop App, and Mobile App are outside that report's scope. Review those experiences separately if they are part of your deployment. The report identifies the evaluated criteria and contains the ratings and remarks reviewers need to understand the assessment.

Level Access evaluates the application, reports findings, and verifies corrections as part of the annual assessment process. Use the current report's stated scope and results when documenting your review.

VPAT and Accessibility Conformance Report

The Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) is the standardized template. A completed report using it is an Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR), although procurement teams commonly request it as a “VPAT.” The Information Technology Industry CouncilExternal LinkThis link leads to an external website and will open in a new tab publishes the template and explains its use.

Review the product identification, report date, standards covered, evaluation methods, and criterion-level ratings and remarks. These details let your accessibility reviewers compare the evidence with the experience and requirements they are responsible for.

The Files.com VPAT is available through the Trust CenterExternal LinkThis link leads to an external website and will open in a new tab under NDA. Document Requests explains how to request access. Accessibility questions from customers and prospects can be sent to compliance@files.com.

Your Deployment and Content

Include the application experience, assistive technologies, and business tasks people need to complete in your evaluation. An assessment of the Files.com interface does not evaluate every PDF, spreadsheet, or other document your organization uploads. The accessibility of that content and of applications people use alongside Files.com requires its own review.

If a person encounters an accessibility problem, identify the affected experience, task, browser, and assistive technology when contacting us. That information helps our team understand the problem and the context in which it occurs.
