Limitations

The AI Assistant does not currently support the following. If you have questions about any of these limitations, contact Files.com Support.

  • Media file contents. The assistant cannot read or analyze the contents of media files, including images, video, audio, and scanned documents. It cannot perform OCR, extract text from scans, or inspect visual content. If you need to apply metadata based on information in a media file, provide the field values directly in your request instead.
  • No access to external URLs. The assistant cannot open links, browse websites, or retrieve content from URLs outside Files.com. It can answer using information available in your Files.com account and the Files.com documentation knowledge base.
  • No chat history across sessions. Starting a new chat, logging out, or being timed out ends the session and the conversation cannot be resumed. Each new session starts fresh.
  • Child Sites. The assistant cannot access Child Sites. Site Administrators cannot use the assistant on a parent site to query or take actions on a Child Site. To use the AI Assistant on a Child Site, log in to that Child Site directly.
