Application Integrations

An existing business workflow or data pipeline may need files from customers, partners, or other systems. Files.com provides controlled file exchange around that application: people and systems submit or retrieve files through Files.com, while the application continues to own its business decisions, processing, and data analysis.

Choose the connection around the system that owns the next step. A business application can exchange scheduled exports and import files through Files.com using its supported file interface. A workflow platform can use a Files.com connector or a standard SFTP connection to collect a file, call another application, and publish the result. A data platform can read files for ingestion through a supported endpoint or from storage where Files.com delivers them. The application determines when its work starts and what counts as an accepted result; a completed file transfer alone does not establish that it processed the contents.

The connection's Files.com account and credentials determine which folders and operations it can use. Keep that access specific to the workflow, and distinguish the application's access from the permissions of people submitting files. Files can live in Files.com storage or on a Remote Server Mount; the storage arrangement determines where reads and changes take effect.

For an application you are building yourself, the SDKs and APIs provide direct access to file operations and platform administration.
