Automation Logs (v1)

Files.com records detailed logging information for every Automations v1 operation. Each entry captures the status, creation and completion timestamps, operation type, path, destination, and error details when an operation fails. For v2, see run logs in Automations v2.

Run logs for a specific automation are available in its Run Logs section. After a run completes, Files.com saves its detailed log so Folder Admins with access to the Automation can review the result, including for site-owned Automations. Changing the Automation's owner is not required to read that saved log.

Live details for an in-progress run require a Site Administrator. The dedicated logging service cannot filter those details to a Folder Admin's permitted scope, so its API endpoints require site-wide access. If a Folder Admin needs help diagnosing a run before it finishes, a Site Administrator can review the live details.

Site Administrators can also use Automated Actions to view Automation logs across the entire site.
