Transfer Settings

The upload, download, and sync operations transfer files in parallel and retry interrupted transfers. Adjust these shared settings when the machine running the CLI App or the storage it accesses cannot support the default workload.

Concurrent Transfers

By default, these operations transfer up to 75 files at a time. Your operating system, local file system, or network file system may support fewer open files or concurrent transfers. Use --concurrent-connection-limit to increase or decrease the number of files transferred at once:

files-cli upload /local/path/to/folder/ /remote/path/to/folder/ --concurrent-connection-limit=3

The same flag applies to download, sync push, and sync pull.

Retries

Each file transfer gets two retries by default, for a total of three attempts. Use --retry-count to change the number of retries, for example when a local network share has an unstable connection:

files-cli upload /local/path/to/folder/ /remote/path/to/folder/ --retry-count=10

The same flag applies to download, sync push, and sync pull.

A retry attempts to resume at the interruption point. Resuming depends on the capabilities of both ends of the transfer, including the type of Remote Server Mount involved. If resuming fails, the CLI App restarts the file transfer from the beginning. Check the CLI log to establish whether a retry resumed or restarted.
