Updating the Desktop App

The Desktop App keeps itself current through an auto-update feature. By default, it checks for updates every 24 hours and at every launch. When a new version is available, the app alerts you and updates itself automatically. You can also check for updates manually by selecting Check for Updates from the Files.com tray or menu bar icon, which upgrades the app in place.

If your IT administrator manages the Desktop App centrally, Check for Updates may be missing from the menu because they've disabled in-app updates to control which version runs across your organization. Contact your IT administrator to request an update.
