Mounting Files.com via WebDAV on macOS

Our preferred solution for mounting Files.com as a drive on macOS is to use the Files.com Desktop App.

When the Desktop App is not an option for a given use case, you can mount Files.com as a drive using WebDAV instead.

Finder Configuration

Before connecting, configure Finder to work cleanly over WebDAV.

  1. Disable .DS_Store over network connections by following Apple's directionsExternal LinkThis link leads to an external website and will open in a new tab.
  2. Disable icon previews by following these directionsExternal LinkThis link leads to an external website and will open in a new tab.

Making The Connection

Open Finder and choose Go > Connect to Server, or press ⌘ + K. In the Connect to Server dialog box, enter https://SUBDOMAIN.files.com/ in the Server Address box, where SUBDOMAIN is your Files.com subdomain, and then click Connect.

Select Registered User on the prompt. When prompted for your username and password, enter your Files.com credentials. You can store your login information in your keychain for easy access.

A new Finder window opens showing the files on your site, which you can browse and access like any other drive.
