Folder Activity

This log shows file and folder activity performed within the selected folder.

Folder Activity records actions taken on files and folders inside the folder, including creating, reading, updating, deleting, moving, copying, renaming, and downloading files, as well as creating, updating, deleting, moving, and copying folders. Each entry includes information about the user who performed the action.

Folder Activity consolidates repeated Read and Update actions that occur within a 15 minute window when the same user performs the same action on the same file from the same IP address using the same interface. When a file is downloaded or updated multiple times during this window, Folder Activity records a single entry instead of separate entries for each occurrence. This consolidation keeps the activity view clear and focused on meaningful changes within the folder.

Folder Activity provides a summarized view of file and folder activity, while API logs record every individual request, including repeated Read and Update actions.

Files.com retains Folder Activity logs for 7 years.
