Authentication or Firewall Issues
Most authentication failures come down to incorrect credentials, but they can also stem from IP address restrictions enforced by the remote server.
If the Remote Server uses a saved credential, update it in the Remote Server Credential Manager and re-test the connection.
The rest of this page covers what to check when the remote server enforces an IP address allowlist.
If your site uses a custom domain, you have two dedicated IPs available for outbound connections. To find them, type "Firewall" in the search box at the top of every page and click on the matching result. Your dedicated IP addresses are at the bottom of that page. You can also disable the use of your dedicated IP for a specific remote server mount, for example when your counterparty has already allowlisted the main Files.com IP range.
If you do not have a custom domain, allowlist every IP on our main IPs list. The list contains more than 80 addresses, and partial allowlisting causes connection failures. If allowlisting that many addresses is impractical, move to a custom domain. That gives you a pair of IP addresses to allowlist instead.
