Deleting a Child Site

This page covers removing a Child Site. See Child Sites for an overview of what Child Sites are.

Child Sites are designed as long-term infrastructure, so removal is a manual operation handled by Files.com support rather than a self-service action. To remove a Child Site, a Parent Site Administrator contacts Files.com support with the Child Site to remove.

When a Child Site is removed, every resource inside it is removed with it: users, groups, folders, files, automations, integrations, SSO configuration, branding, and all other site-level configuration. The Child Site's DNS records and IP allocation are released. Aggregated usage history for the Child Site is retained for the Parent Site's billing records.

Before requesting removal, copy any files you want to preserve to the Parent Site or to another Child Site through the Parent Site's underscore folder.
