Adding a Remote Server

Any site administrator can add a new remote server to your site.

Depending on the type of server you are adding, you may need to have different details on hand. Each remote server type may have different requirements for defining the connection.

Maximum Connections

Some types of Remote Server allow you to configure a Max connections setting which will restrict the number of concurrent parallel connections made by Files.com to that server.

Decrease this value if the remote server is unable to support multiple concurrent connections to it.

For example, some FTP servers will allow only 2 concurrent connections per user account so any value above 2 in this setting will cause poor throughput and cause warning messages on the remote server.

Buffered Uploads

Some types of Remote Server allow you to configure a Buffered Uploads setting which will determine the route that data transfers will take between the user and the Remote Server.
