Troubleshooting Automations

There are several issues that can cause automations to fail. When these issues occur, you may see effects such as some files successfully being transferred while others fail or some operations may fail completely. See Automations Retry Logic to understand how automations can be retried automatically if they are marked as Failure or Partial Failure.

There a several issues that can cause Automation failures, such as:

• Race conditions
• Rate Limit Throttling
• Same size files when copying
• Folders containing large numbers of files
• Source not found
• Destination exists
• Using wildcards incorrectly
• Open files
• Zero byte size files
• Timeout errors or network issues
• Automation is owned by non-admin user

We provide detailed error messages in the Automation logs that will help you to determine the cause of the failure.
