Share Groups
Share Groups are reusable lists of recipients for sending invitations to Share Links or Inboxes. A Share Group lets you send invitations to the same set of recipients more than once without rebuilding the list each time.
Example Use: Soliciting Bids
Imagine that your organization works with groups of subcontractors who bid on specific projects. You need to provide a set of specifications for the subcontractors to review and a way for them to upload their bids.
First, create an Inbox folder to receive the bids and a Share Link to publish the specifications. Configure the Share Link to allow downloads, and associate the Inbox with the Share Link for uploads.
Then create a Share Group that contains the contact information for the contractors you want to solicit bids from. There is no limit to the number of groups you can create. You could organize them by approved-contractor status, the size of the job they specialize in, the area where they operate, or any other dimension that matters to your business.
Once the Share Link, Inbox, and Share Group are ready, generate email invitations to send a unique link to each subcontractor.
Share Group Structure
Each Share Group has a Share group name for quick reference and an optional Internal note.
A Share Group can contain up to 50 recipients. Each recipient must have an Email address, and may also have a Name and Company.
Access To Share Groups
Each user with sharing permissions has full access to their own list of Share Groups, and can create, edit, or remove Share Groups in that list. Share Groups are private to the user who owns them; Administrators cannot see or modify other users' Share Groups.
Share Groups Are Web-Only
Share Groups are available only in the web interface. If you have a use case for using a Share Group with any of our official SDKs, please let us know.
Email Recipient Restrictions
Site administrators can restrict which email addresses or domains can receive Share Link or Inbox invitations by changing the site's global settings.
Addresses that don't match the restrictions can be added to a Share Group without an error, but invitations won't be sent to those addresses. When you attempt to use a Share Group containing restricted addresses, no invitations are generated until you remove the invalid addresses.
