Use Office for the Web on Any Storage
On its own, Office for the Web only edits files kept in OneDrive or SharePoint. Through Files.com it edits Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files wherever Files.com can reach them. That means an S3 bucket, an Azure Blob container, an Azure Files share, your own server, anything you’ve connected. Files.com hands the file to Office for the Web for you, using the WOPI protocol Microsoft built for this. So the Office subscription you already pay for finally works on all your storage, not just two Microsoft clouds.
