Two Changes to SSL

March 27, 2018

Please be aware of two changes related to SSL on BrickFTP.

First, BrickFTP will be replacing its main wildcard SSL certificate for *.brickftp.com tomorrow. If you or any of your BrickFTP users manually maintain a certificate whitelist, you will need to update your whitelist to contain the new certificate. This new certificate is valid for 2 years. The new certificate's fingerprint is as follows:

sha256:A7:A4:B9:E2:81:68:F9:94:6E:04:84:EA:98:7D:A8:DB:6C:5A:61:15:F7:BE:2C:A4:8D:CD:37:0A:52:5F:CB:1B

sha1:2A:2D:2B:55:04:05:1E:9E:38:C4:14:8F:D4:51:BB:2D:F7:61:A2:D3

Second, we will no longer be allowing the AES256-CBC cipher in our main set of secure SSL cipher suites. This cipher is no longer considered secure. This means that iOS 9 and below will no longer be supported by default on BrickFTP. If you need to maintain compatibility with iOS 9, you will need to enable insecure ciphers on the Configuration > Security tab.

If you have any questions, please contact support@brickftp.com or call 800-286-8372.
