Akamai Linode
Files.com integrates with Akamai Linode to make your Linode Object Storage available to your users as Files.com folders. Linode Object Storage is S3-compatible Object Storage for managing unstructured data such as content assets and data-intensive storage workloads for artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Akamai Linode Integration at Files.com
Linode Object Storage can be connected as a Remote Server Mount to make the Linode storage content available in real time, or connected as a Sync to push or pull files between Linode storage and other Files.com storage locations.
The integration lets your users access Linode storage through Files.com using a web browser, SFTP, FTP, WebDAV, the Files.com Desktop App, or the Files.com Command Line (CLI) App.
Files.com connects to Akamai Linode through the Linode Object Storage APIs over HTTPS, providing secure encrypted data transmission between the two platforms.
Connecting to Akamai Linode
Create a new Remote Server in your Files.com site using the Akamai Linode server type.
You must provide the required Authentication information. You can enter credentials directly, or select a saved credential from the Remote Server Credential Manager.
Configuration options let you select your preferences for the Dedicated IPs and Data Regional Routing settings for this Remote Server.
Once Akamai Linode has been added as a Remote Server, you can integrate it with Files.com as either a Remote Server Mount or Sync.
Authentication Information
The following items are required for connecting Files.com to your Linode Object Storage bucket.
Internal name for this connection - An internal identifier to refer to this connection.
Bucket - The name of your Linode Object Storage bucket, as shown in your Linode web portal > Object Storage > Buckets page.
Akamai Linode region - The region of your Linode Object Storage bucket. The region is shown in your Linode web portal > Object Storage > Buckets page.
Access Key - The Linode Object Storage Access Key, as shown in your Linode web portal > Object Storage > Access Keys page.
Secret Key - The Secret Key that corresponds to the above Access Key, which was shown to you when you first created the Access Key.
Add Remote Server Mount
Remote Server Mounts are created by mounting them onto an empty folder in Files.com. We recommend mounting onto a subfolder rather than the Root of your site, though mounting at the Root is supported.
Add Sync
After creating the Remote Server, you can use it to perform Syncs between your bucket and Files.com.
Automations
Folders configured with a Remote Server Mount to Akamai Linode can be used with automations, letting you include Linode Object Storage buckets as source locations or destinations.
Case Sensitivity
Watch for case sensitivity differences when copying, moving, or syncing files and folders between Linode Object Storage and other storage locations. Linode Object Storage is case sensitive where other systems may not be. Files can be overwritten, and folder contents merged, when their case-insensitive names match.
