December 2025

In December 2025, we shipped updates for the Agent, Remote Servers, and SIEM. We also improved child site policies and user recovery. Automatic SSH/GPG key cleanup and a Zapier app update round out the month.

Agent Routing to Private Remote Servers

The On-Premises Agent can now create private connections to certain Remote Server types. This lets you integrate servers the Files.com platform cannot reach directly. You can connect cloud workflows to private infrastructure without changing your network topology.

The Agent currently supports routing connections to SFTP and cloud storage remote servers.

Buffered Remote Uploading

Buffered Remote Uploading uses store-and-forward logic. It helps when a Remote Server ingests data slower than users upload. This protects users from slow destinations and stabilizes upload performance.

You can enable Buffered Uploads when configuring or editing a Remote Server. The setting takes effect immediately for new uploads routed to that Remote Server.

You can choose between the following options:

  • Automatic - Let Files.com decide whether to enable or disable upload buffering for this remote server. When set to Automatic, Files.com enables Buffered Uploads for Box, Dropbox, Azure Files, OneDrive, and WebDAV destinations.
  • Always - Uploads are always stored on Files.com prior to being forwarded.
  • Never - Uploads are never stored on Files.com while being forwarded.

Child Site Management Policies

Child Site Setting Policies let a parent site enforce specific settings across child sites. Use them to standardize branding, security, and core behavior.

Policies prevent child site administrators from changing managed settings. You can exempt specific child sites per policy when you need exceptions.

Self-Serve Restore for Deleted Users

The Restore Users feature allows Site Administrators to recover users that were deleted accidentally, prematurely, or in error. Restoring a user brings the account back with its associated configuration, eliminating the need to recreate the user and manually rebuild access or credentials.

SIEM Log File Streaming

Log File Streaming writes audit and activity logs to timestamped files at a configured interval. Files are written in JSON or CSV format and stored in a selected destination folder. The destination folder can be located anywhere on your site, including folders on Remote Server Mounts.

Log File Streaming is ideal for workflows that rely on file-based access rather than real-time delivery. These files can be consumed by scheduled processing jobs, used for historical analysis or audits, retained for extended periods, or ingested into analytics systems that operate on batch files.

Other Minor Updates

Other improvements include automatic removal of unused GPG/SSH keys and a Zapier app update.

Automatic GPG or SSH Key Lifecycle Management

Key Lifecycle Rules automatically remove inactive security keys. These rules apply to either SSH keys (used for secure server access) or GPG/PGP keys (used for encryption and signing).

Removing unused keys reduces risk and keeps credential management simpler.

Updated Zapier Integration

The latest version of the Files.com Zapier application makes the Upload File API action more robust. It automatically removes incompatible slashes from file names. You no longer need to sanitize names before upload. All existing zaps have been updated to the latest version.
