November 2025

In November 2025, we shipped exciting advanced storage features, along with various other improvements. S3-Compatible Endpoints and High Availability Mounts ensure efficient data handling and resiliency. Partner management streamlines external user onboarding and off-boarding. Other features improve developer and user experience.

S3-Compatible Endpoint

You can now connect to your Files.com site using an S3-like interface, or even the AWS Command Line Interface. The S3-Compatible Endpoint feature allows seamless integration and data management through interfaces similar to those offered by Amazon S3. This provides versatile use cases, including backup and recovery, data archival, and cloud storage solutions, enabling organizations to leverage their existing tools and infrastructure. The feature enhances operational efficiency and reduces migration costs, offering users the ability to scale storage operations flexibly and reliably.

Using an S3-Compatible Endpoint for file transfers makes migrating existing flows to Files.com easy and efficient. You can exchange data smoothly with the same tools you already use to manage files in your S3 buckets.

High Availability Mounts

High Availability Mounts keep important data and applications running. They offer backup connections, so there is no downtime even if things go wrong. This helps your businesses processes continue working smoothly. Even if there are problems with your primary connection, tasks like live data processing can continue with backup connections without any breaks.

High Availability Mounts are most beneficial in scenarios where uninterrupted access to data is critical. They are particularly useful in industries such as finance, healthcare, and e-commerce that require continuous operations and have little tolerance for downtime. These mounts support disaster recovery plans by allowing seamless failover mechanisms, so essential services remain accessible during disruptions. With High Availability Mounts, organizations maintain robust business continuity.

Partner Management

The Partner management feature gives you handy tools to easily manage external users. It helps with organizing partner relationships, structuring interactions, and managing credentials. Partner management streamlines setting permissions, so your partners can access the necessary resources with minimal setup. Partner admins let you safely delegate limited user management to external administrators.

Partners are ideal when data transfers are initiated by your external users, rather than being controlled by Syncs or Automations. By reducing the time and effort to manage external user credentials, Partners speeds up the onboarding process.

Minor Updates

We've also made several other notable updates. The Files.com Desktop App for Windows lets you choose which drive letter to use for your connections. Developer documentation has been improved with updates to log-related API endpoints. The Permissions Audit Export now includes more details about the included users. We've made many changes to our Web UI to improve the user experience.

Choose Mapped Drive Letters in Windows Desktop App

In the Windows edition of the Files.com Desktop App, you can choose a specific drive letter that will be used when your connection is mounted as a drive. This is especially helpful in large scale deployment scenarios where IT admins want consistent and predictable drive letters across all systems. By setting a standard drive letter, you can reduce confusion and keep things organized.

Developer Documentation Updates

We've updated the developer documentation for several log-related API endpoints: Automation Logs, Outbound Emails, File Migrations, FTP Logs, SFTP Logs, Outbound Connections, WebDAV Logs, Sync Logs and API Request Logs. Each entry includes the allowed enumerated values for fields like operation or status. This change makes it easier to write code that looks for specific types of entries.

Added Details in Permissions Audit Export

The Permissions Audit Export now shows more details about users, like their email addresses, account creation dates, and last login times. This makes it easier for organizations to check user permissions regularly. With these added details, there's no need to run multiple reports to track down accounts that need your attention.

Web Interface Changes

We've been busy improving the web interface, standardizing pages to make them more predictable and upgrading our fonts for better readability. Folder settings are now organized into tabs, making them simpler to navigate. We've also improved forms to be more user-friendly. The process for adding new Automations is now more straightforward, rather than a multi-step wizard. Our list of available integrations is clearer, too. Additionally, we've added tabs for logs to the FTP, SFTP, and WebDAV pages, so you can find those logs near their relevant settings as well as under the Logging section.
