Rapoo Updates Drivers Across 200 Products Without a Single Website Edit, Using Files.com
Rapoo makes mice, keyboards, headsets, and speakers sold through retailers across Europe. Based in the Netherlands, Rapoo Europe handles the brand’s sales and marketing across the region, sitting between Rapoo and its distribution and retail partners.
Peripherals are hardware, and hardware ships with software. Every mouse and keyboard has a driver, a manual, and often firmware, and all of them get revised. A consumer who buys a Rapoo keyboard at an electronics retailer goes straight to the Rapoo website to download the driver. The support side of that website covers roughly 200 products across five regions, and behind nearly every one of those products sits a download button.
Every File Change Was a Website Change
Drivers and manuals change frequently. Under the old arrangement, the files lived where the website could serve them, so every revision to a file meant a corresponding manual update to the website — on pages, subpages, and buttons spread across five regional variants of the site.
The cost landed in two places. The first was the marketing team’s time: the people who own the product files spent it on website maintenance instead, and every hand edit across that many pages was a chance to get one wrong. The second was the consumer at the far end of the chain. Downloading a driver is often the first thing a new Rapoo customer does after unboxing the product, and a stale or broken download button fails them at exactly that moment.
The arrangement survived as long as it did because it is where every product website starts: the site serves its own files, and at a small catalogue that works. At 200 products, five regional sites, and a steady stream of file revisions, keeping content current by editing the website no longer scaled — and it put the freshness of every asset at the mercy of website turnaround rather than in the hands of the marketing team that owns the files.
The fix had a clear specification. Downloads had to keep coming from the same buttons on the same website. The links behind those buttons had to be stable enough to embed permanently. And the file behind a link had to be replaceable by the marketing team, without a website change, at the scale of the whole catalogue. Rapoo selected Files.com to host the files behind the buttons.
Stable Links on the Site, Live Files Behind Them
Files.com became the file layer of the Rapoo website: the site holds the buttons, Files.com holds the files, and the two change independently.
Rapoo hosts its product drivers, manuals, and large marketing assets on Files.com, organized into a folder per product, and embeds Files.com public share links directly in the download buttons of the website’s support sections. Each link is a permanent address. When a driver is revised, the team overwrites the file in place on Files.com, and the link keeps serving whatever is current — the website is never touched.
A File Overwrite Replaced a Website Update
With the links in production, Rapoo replaced a website-maintenance workflow with a file overwrite.

- Website maintenance for asset updates is gone. Replacing a driver means overwriting one file, and every page, subpage, and button that references it is current the moment the upload completes.
- The consumer path runs through Files.com in production. A retail buyer lands on the support site, clicks the download button, and receives the file from Files.com — at a sustained volume of more than a terabyte a month in combined transfer and storage.
- The pattern absorbs the catalogue’s growth. A new product enters the site as a folder and a set of links, and every future revision to its files is already handled.
The Website Keeps the Buttons, Files.com Keeps the Files
Rapoo did not rebuild its support site to get there. It moved the files out of the site. That is the portable lesson for any company whose website serves files that change: the download infrastructure can be decoupled from the website itself, and once the buttons point at stable Files.com links, the content team can keep hundreds of downloadable assets current without ever filing a website change.
