Slack SSO

Files.com integration to Slack allows your users to use their Slack credentials to log in to Files.com. This is done by configuring Files.com’s Slack authentication feature. This integration allows Slack customers to seamlessly offer Files.com to their Slack users without managing any fresh credentials.

To enable Slack authentication for your site, navigate to Settings > Integrations > SSO.

Next, click on Add Provider, select Slack and click on Save.

The Slack authentication method will now be available when assigning an authentication method for a user in Files.com, and the Sign in with Slack button will be displayed on your site's login page.

Adding users and changing the authentication method to Slack

To manage your users, navigate to Settings > Users and click the New User button.

In the New User form, click the Authentication method drop down menu to select the Slack option. This enables Slack Authentication for this user.

Make sure that the Username and the Email address are both set to the email address of the Slack account you will use for authentication.

Complete the rest of the form according to your preferences and click Create user.

You may now test by logging in to Files.com account using the Sign in with Slack button from your Files.com login page.

Note: Files.com also supports a Folder Behavior that will post notifications to Slack when actions occur in certain folders in your Files.com account.
