Slack SSO

Files.com's Slack integration lets your users log in to Files.com with their Slack credentials. You configure it through Files.com's Slack authentication feature. The integration lets Slack customers offer Files.com to their Slack users without managing a separate set of credentials.

Add a new provider for Slack and save your changes. The Slack authentication method then becomes available when assigning an authentication method for a user in Files.com, and the Sign in with Slack button appears on your site's login page.

Keep at least one site administrator on password authentication rather than assigning every administrator to SSO. This prevents being locked out of Files.com during an IdP or SSO outage.

Changing the Authentication Method to Slack

Edit each user's settings, update the Authentication Method to Slack, and save the changes to enable Slack authentication for the user.

The Username and Email address fields must both be set to the email address of the Slack account used for authentication.

You can now test by logging in to your Files.com account with the Sign in with Slack button on your Files.com login page.

Files.com also supports a Folder Behavior that posts notifications to Slack when actions occur in certain folders in your Files.com account.
