Clickwrap Login Enforcement
A Clickwrap presents terms that users must actively accept before accessing your site, and records that acceptance. Common uses include NDAs, terms of service, privacy policies, and acceptable use policies.
Files.com Clickwraps can be configured to display when users log in via the web UI, requiring acceptance before they can access any content.
Clickwraps are most often used where legal or regulatory requirements call for documented acceptance of terms before granting access. Recorded acceptance also simplifies audits and protects against disputes.
Clickwraps are created and managed by Site Administrators, including their availability settings.
Presenting Clickwraps When Users Log In
Each Clickwrap offers three modes for displaying a Clickwrap to internal users at login.
The first mode is targeted at new users registering via email signup. The Clickwrap is shown when they access your Files.com site to create their password.
The second mode requires all users to accept once. During their next login via the web UI, the user sees the Clickwrap and must accept before accessing content. After they agree once, the Clickwrap is never shown to that user again.
Editing the body text of the Clickwrap does not re-prompt users who have already accepted. To require users to accept updated terms, create a new Clickwrap with the revised text and set it to be displayed to all users once. This replaces the prior Clickwrap in that mode and prompts anyone who has not yet accepted the new version.
The third mode displays the Clickwrap to users on every visit, with an "I agree" checkbox that must be checked before signing in.
Multiple Modes at Once
Each of the three modes can only be assigned to one Clickwrap at a time, but all three can be active simultaneously on different Clickwraps: one for new email signups, a second shown to all existing users once, and a third shown on every login, all running at the same time.
