External Logs

External Logs record events from interactions with external systems, including Remote Servers, external identity systems (LDAP, SAML), SIEM, the Files.com on-premise Agent, and the Files.com CLI AppExternal LinkThis link leads to an external website and will open in a new tab. Logged events include CLI App uploads and downloads, LDAP and SAML login attempts, LDAP sync events, SIEM connection results, and scheduled Sync pushes and pulls between Files.com and a remote server.

We retain these logs for 90 days.

Details Recorded in External Logs

ColumnDetails
IDID of the event. Each event may include multiple actions. Click on the ID to see more details.
Event TypeTypes of events being recorded include LDAP Login, LDAP Sync, SAML Login, Sync, SIEM, Client Log, Lockout, and Pending Work. The Client Log event type is recorded when the Files.com CLI app uploads a set of log files to the server. The Lockout event is recorded when an account gets locked out due to failed login attempts. The Pending Work event type is recorded when files are being preprocessed, such as GPG encryption or decryption, before they are available on the platform.
StatusStatus of the event such as Success, Failure, Partial_failure, In-progress, or Skipped.
SyncSync name.
PathPath accessed on the Remote Server.
Successful filesCount of the successfully transferred files with the corresponding event.
Errored filesCount of the errored files with the corresponding event.
Bytes SyncedBytes Synced with the corresponding Sync event.
DateStart time of the event.
