IP Address Changes in March 2026
This article describes an upcoming change to the range of IP addresses that are used by Files.com and the actions that are required by March 2, 2026.
At Files.com, we’re always looking for ways to improve the experience of our enterprise customers, especially when it comes to security and firewall management. We’re pleased to announce a significant update for customers who maintain firewall whitelists for Files.com IP addresses.
What You Need to Do
If you manage firewall whitelisting for Files.com (and do not use a dedicated IP address), you must update your firewall rules before March 2, 2026.
No action is required by customers who use dedicated IP addresses.
Specifically:
- Add our new IP range to your allowlist:
198.72.80.0/20
(which covers all IP addresses from198.72.80.0
through198.72.95.255
). - After March 2, 2026: You can safely remove the old IP addresses from your allowlist.
For full details on this IP range and how to implement the change in your firewall, please see our updated firewall whitelisting documentation.

Deadline
Please ensure this update is completed before March 2, 2026, to maintain uninterrupted access to Files.com.
Background and Rationale
Many of our customers have shared that our current list of IP addresses can be challenging to manage. The existing list is long, non-contiguous, and updating firewall whitelists can be a tedious process.
To address these concerns, we have acquired our own dedicated, contiguous IP range. Starting on March 2, 2026, we will exclusively use this new IP range for all inbound and outbound traffic. This means:
- You’ll only need a single firewall entry, simplifying management.
- We’ll be able to make infrastructure changes within this range without requiring additional updates from you.
- This change will not apply to customers with dedicated IP addresses tied to a custom domain name; those will remain unchanged.
We’ve selected this date to give you a full nine months’ notice and to avoid any potential disruptions caused by Q4 change freezes.
