Files.com supports WebDAV file access over HTTPS. Use it when an application requires WebDAV or when you need an operating system's built-in WebDAV mount. For desktop access on Windows or macOS, prefer the Files.com Desktop App, which provides a mounted drive and a separate interface for bulk transfers.

Limitations

WebDAV file actions can require several round trips between client and server, making latency significant when browsing folders, editing files in place, or transferring many files. Native operating-system clients also impose their own limits; Windows troubleshooting covers file-size and timeout issues.

Some clients leave partial uploads after an interrupted transfer. Account for that behavior before applying automated processing to an upload folder.

Connection Information

Use your site's HTTPS URL, https://SUBDOMAIN.files.com/, or its custom domain. Connecting by IP address is not officially supported.

Files.com offers WebDAV over HTTPS on port 443 only. Select WebDAVS or WebDAV (HTTPS) if your client asks for a protocol. A client that cannot use TLS cannot connect.

A firewall can allow ordinary HTTPS traffic while blocking WebDAV methods. If the connection fails, check network access and login settings.
