Partially Uploaded Files

WebDAV is not consistently implemented across clients, and some WebDAV clients do not perform atomic uploads. Certain Folder Settings, such as GPG and Rename Uploaded Files, then act on partially uploaded files rather than complete files, causing file corruption, zero-byte files, and GPG processing failures.

If your counterparty is limited to WebDAV, mitigate the propagation or processing of partial files. Do not configure automations, encryption, or Folder Settings on destination folders of WebDAV uploads, because they will act on partial files. Target file name patterns that omit partial or temporary file names. Use schedules to delay actions on uploaded files. For example, if you expect files to be uploaded at 9 am, use an automation with a custom schedule set for 10 am to allow an extra hour for any remaining data to arrive.

We strongly recommend using our Desktop App on desktop computers rather than the built-in WebDAV client, so that partial data is not uploaded into folders that have Folder Settings configured.
