DNS Resolution
Your Files.com site's subdomain (e.g. subdomain.files.com) resolves to our pool of IP addresses.
If your site uses a Custom Domain, DNS resolves your custom domain (e.g. files.mycompany.com) to the dedicated IP addresses assigned to it.
All Files.com connections rely on standard DNS resolution to translate hostnames used by your site, your Custom Domain, or other service-specific endpoints into their corresponding IP addresses. Configure your network to allow outbound DNS queries so client systems can resolve these hostnames.
Files.com endpoints are load-balanced and use DNS-based routing to direct traffic to the most efficient application cluster. Use DNS names rather than hard-coded IP addresses so access continues uninterrupted when Files.com updates or expands its infrastructure.
Organizations using domain-filtering network security controls must allow access to all *.files.com hostnames so user connections, automated tasks, and background processes can reach the Files.com platform.
