IP Address Changes in March 2026
Files.com now uses a contiguous, dedicated IP address range for all inbound and outbound connections.
This change was completed on March 2, 2026. A single firewall rule covering the Files.com IP range is now sufficient for allowing access to Files.com from networks that restrict traffic by IP address.
We began announcing this change in June 2025 through email, in-app announcements, this documentation, and our blog.
What You Need to Do
If you already allow the new Files.com IP range, no further action is required.
If you or any of your users lost connectivity to Files.com, update your firewall rules accordingly:
- Add
198.72.80.0/20to your allowlist. This range covers all IP addresses from198.72.80.0through198.72.95.255. - You may safely remove the old IP addresses from your allowlist.
For full details on this IP range and how to implement the change in your firewall, see IP Addresses.
If your network policy prefers allow rules by domain name (FQDN) instead of by IP range, use a Custom Domain (available on Power and Enterprise) and allow access using your own hostname. See Using a Custom Domain Instead of IP Whitelisting.
