Interface

Interface customization covers the site-level settings that shape how your Files.com site looks, how it presents itself on the internet, and what users see while working. These settings matter when you roll out a branded portal, align outbound email with your mail security controls, support multiple languages, or constrain the UI to match a role-based workflow.

Customization applies site-wide. Folder-scoped customization (branding inheritance, watermark inheritance) lives in Folder Settings. Customization does not replace access control; that lives in Folder Permissions.

Topics In This Section

Custom Branding controls your site name, colors, logos, login page presentation, and branded email appearance. It also covers header/footer text blocks that use Markdown Formatting.

Custom Domain maps your site to a domain you own and sets up TLS for that domain. It also ties into Dedicated IP Addresses and interacts with Regional Storage and Regional Data Routing.

Custom SMTP routes outbound platform email through your SMTP service instead of the default sender. This matters for deliverability, DKIM/SPF alignment, and consistent sender identity across Emails From Files.com.

Foreign Language Support sets the default UI language and per-user language. It also impacts the visitor experience on Share Links and Inboxes.

Watermarks overlays a visual marker during file preview for images and PDFs. Watermarks apply to previews for logged-in users and Share Link visitors.

Left Menu Customization hides major navigation categories for types of users. This setting changes visibility in the web UI and does not change API access or user permissions.

Markdown Formatting defines the markup supported across text fields in Files.com.
