Custom Domain Settings
The Custom Domain settings on your Files.com site control how your Custom Domain works.
Provide the full domain name of your CNAME record (such as files.example.com) in your site's Custom domain setting. This domain is the only address used for any new links generated by your site, such as Inboxes, Share Links, and links sent in welcome or password recovery emails.
Indicate whether you will use the Files.com-provided SSL certificate, or if you are managing your own. By default, the SSL certificate for your Custom Domain is managed by Files.com, and we recommend this for the vast majority of our customers.
You can enable HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) on your domain. Enabling HSTS is a recommended best practice.
Custom domain and SSL certificate changes typically take effect within minutes, though in rare cases they may take up to 48 hours. While the changes propagate, your users can continue to access your site at your custom subdomain without interruption.
HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) on Custom Domains
HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) is a policy mechanism that lets a web server declare that browsers will only interact with it over HTTPS. Enabling HSTS is a recommended best practice, and nearly every web browser supports it.
HSTS is enabled on all Custom Subdomains by default. You can also enable HSTS on your Custom Domain.
