Announcing Desktop v6

Files.com Desktop v6 is built for the demands of high-speed, large-scale file transfers. The Desktop App v6 provides a familiar interface for anyone who has used traditional FTP/SFTP clients while it drastically outperforms traditional tools like FileZilla.

With advanced parallel processing, Desktop v6 consistently transfers data 2x to 5x faster, even in the most extreme scenarios. Whether uploading thousands of files or managing gigabytes of data, Desktop v6 ensures smooth, efficient operations without compromising accuracy or system performance.

Desktop v6 is available to download now.

Table Export Feature

Most tables throughout the web interface allow you to create a CSV export file of the entries in the table. The resulting CSV file can be used for data analysis or imported into other systems. When used with a table's filters to limit which records are shown, the export provides a no-code reporting solution.

This feature was designed for convenience. If an export process is taking a long time, such as exporting thousands of user accounts, you can run the export in the background and your site will automatically email you a link to the results. CSV exports are available right now for all sites, and any user who can view a table can export all the records they can view.

Minor Updates

In addition to the major feature releases detailed above, we've made several other quality improvements throughout the platform.

On-Premise Agent Logging Improvements

The On-Premise Agent logs now include an entry when the agent is shut down. The Agent also records a HeathCheck in its log at least every 15 minutes. This aids in troubleshooting why an agent has restarted unexpectedly. Upgrade your Agent installations to at least version 2.0.2726 for this updated logging.

Capture Inbound Email Body Contents

You can now configure your Inboxes to store the email body contents for inbound emails as well as storing the email attachments. This provides more integration possibilities with legacy systems that generate emails. Administrators can change the Inbound Email Settings for an inbox to enable the Save inbound email body content to a text file option.

More Columns Available In Table Listings

Tables within the web interface allow you to pick which columns are visible on the screen. Most tables throughout the entire site can include all possible associated columns. This cuts down on the number of clicks to get the information you need right now. No action is required to enable this for your site.

Automatic Subfolder Organization Supports More Granular Time Options

The Organize Files into Subfolders feature has been updated to provide more granular options for the Creation Date and Modified Date methods. This allows you to split the contents of high-traffic folders, such as when items uploaded every minute, into useful subfolders for processing. Site administrators can take advantage of the new granularity by changing the patterns for new subfolders.
