Filebase

Filebase is a decentralized storage network. Files.com integrates with Filebase so your users can access Filebase buckets as Files.com folders.

Filebase Integration at Files.com

You can connect Filebase storage as a Remote Server Mount to make the Filebase content available in real time, or as a Sync to push or pull files between Filebase and other Files.com storage locations.

Once connected, your users access Filebase storage through Files.com using a web browser, SFTP, FTP, WebDAV, the Files.com Desktop App, or the Files.com Command Line (CLI) App.

Files.com communicates with Filebase over the Filebase APIs via HTTPS, which secures data in transit between the two platforms.

Connecting to Filebase

To connect to Filebase, create a new Remote Server and select Filebase as the server type.

Provide an Internal name for this connection. If you're managing multiple remote servers, make the name clear enough to easily identify this particular connection.

The Authentication Information is required because it contains the credentials Files.com uses for connecting to the remote system. You can enter credentials directly, or select a saved credential from the Remote Server Credential Manager.

Once Filebase has been added as a Remote Server, you can integrate it with Files.com as either a Remote Server Mount or Sync.

Authentication Information

The following items are required for connecting Files.com to Filebase:

Internal name for this connection - An internal identifier to refer to this connection.

Bucket - The name of your Filebase storage bucket, as shown in your Filebase web portal > Buckets page.

Access Key - The Filebase Access Key, as shown in your Filebase web portal > Access Keys page.

Secret - The Secret that corresponds to the above Access Key, as shown in your Filebase web portal > Access Keys page.

Add Remote Server Mount

Remote Server Mounts are created by mounting them onto an empty folder in Files.com. We recommend mounting onto a sub-folder rather than the Root of your site, although mounting at the Root is supported when you need it.

Add Sync

After creating the Remote Server, you can use it to perform Syncs between your remote server and Files.com.

Automations

Folders configured with a Remote Server Mount to Filebase can also be used with Automations. This lets you include Filebase storage buckets as source locations or destinations for your Automations.

Case Sensitivity

Be aware of case sensitivity differences when copying, moving, or syncing files and folders between Filebase and other storage locations. Filebase is a case sensitive system whereas other systems may not be. This can cause files to be overwritten, and folders to have their contents merged, when their case insensitive names are a match.
