Invitations reduce accidental over-sharing by delivering access to specific recipients, and Share Groups make that easier. Registration creates an auditable record of who participated and when; Forms let you choose what registration data is collected from your visitors. Clickwraps capture explicit consent so policy, legal, and compliance requirements are enforceable.

All of these features are used with Share Links and Inboxes, and Clickwraps are also used in new-user signup flows.

How These Features Fit Together

Registration means capturing and storing information about a visitor session. In Files.com, registration data is associated with a Share Link or Inbox. Use Forms when the default registration fields are not enough, or when you need additional, structured intake fields.

Consent means requiring an explicit acknowledgement before access or upload. Use Clickwraps when you need a durable record that a person accepted terms. NDAs, privacy notices, acceptable use policies, and export control statements are common uses for Clickwraps.

Invitations deliver personalized URLs for Share Links and Inboxes directly to your intended recipients. Use Share Groups when you need to invite the same set of recipients repeatedly, or when you want invitations to be easier and less error-prone for end users.

Common Patterns

When your goal is to invite known people and track who accessed your site, use Share Link or Inbox invitations (Share Groups makes this more efficient) and require registration (Forms let you customize what is collected). This gives you a clean "intended recipients" list plus an auditable record of access.

To collect submissions from the public with terms, use an Inbox with registration fields (often via Forms) and a Clickwrap. This is the standard pattern for applications, submissions, and compliance-driven intake.

To provide one URL for download and upload, use a Share Link for distribution and associate an Inbox for uploads. Then layer registration, forms, and clickwraps as needed.
