In August 2026, we added Malware Scanning for uploaded files, support for multiple Child Site Management Policies per parent site, macOS Desktop App deployment through Microsoft Intune, Custom Holiday Calendars, Direct Transfers for the On-Premise Agent, Share Links created from the Desktop App, Re-Usable Schedules that several Automations and Syncs can share, Agent High Availability, Content Validation that looks inside the files an Expectation matches, and FedRAMP Security Mode. Minor updates include additional email recipients on a user account, Requested Upload Slots for Inboxes, a site-wide requirement for email-based one-time passwords on Share Links, custom email content for Event Channel subscriptions, and interval schedules that run on several days.

Malware Scanning

Malware Scanning checks every file uploaded into a folder, and quarantines an infected file to quarantine before anyone can download, preview, move, or copy it. Administrators enable Malware Scanning to protect upload entry points, like the folder behind an Inbox or a folder you share with vendors. Malware Scanning is available on the Enterprise plan.

Multiple Child Site Management Policies per Parent Site

Parent Site Administrators can define more than one Child Site Management Policy and assign each Child Site to the policy that fits it. Groups of sites can carry different enforced settings, like separate branding and security requirements per business unit, without giving up central control. If you had an existing policy, it becomes the default policy, which new Child Sites inherit automatically. The same Child Sites remain covered.

Deploy the macOS Desktop App via Microsoft Intune

You can now deploy the Desktop App to your Mac fleet through Microsoft Intune, the same way you already deploy it to Windows. Upload the macOS PKG installer as a Line-of-Business app. Use release 6.0.2771 or later.

Custom Holiday Calendars

Site Administrators can build a custom Holiday Calendar for the days your organization doesn't operate, and reuse it for scheduled Automations, Syncs, Expectations, Scheduled Exports, and AI Tasks. Use a Holiday Calendar when a built-in Holiday Region doesn't match the dates you need to pause automatic processing.

Direct Transfers for the On-Premise Agent

Direct Transfers let the CLI App and Desktop App send file data straight to your On-Premise Agent instead of relaying it through Files.com, and transfers typically run 3 to 5 times faster. Your Agent keeps itself current by default, so you only need to enable Direct Transfers in its configuration file. Clients fall back to the standard connection route automatically when the direct path isn't available.

Create Share Links from the Desktop App

The Desktop App now offers Create Share Link when you right-click a file or folder, in Windows File Explorer and macOS Finder in Mounted Drive Mode, and in the Files.com pane in Turbo Transfer Mode. Share a file without leaving the app you are already working in. Update the Desktop App to version 6.0.2903 or later.

Re-Usable Schedules

A Schedule is a named set of days and times you define once and reuse across Automations, Syncs, AI Tasks, Expectations, and Scheduled Exports. Ten Automations running at 1 AM on weekdays can use the same Schedule, so you change the Schedule once and everything on it moves together. Site Administrators can manage the Schedules available on your site.

Agent High Availability

Agent High Availability gives your On-Premise Agent two layers of redundancy, both included with the Agent. The first needs no setup and is already running on your site. The second you set up on another host.

Automatic Connection Failover

Every Agent now holds a standby connection to Files.com alongside its active one and shifts traffic to it the moment the active one drops. The same Agent process keeps running and transfers in progress keep going. Your Agent keeps itself current by default, so this is already protecting your transfers with nothing to configure.

Multiple Agent Nodes

Run your Agent on more than one host, so partners delivering files at all hours, or an exchange where a missed window means a missed business deadline, no longer rely on one machine staying online. Install the Agent on a second host that reaches the same shared storage, and Files.com finds the new node on its own and moves work to it when the serving node becomes unavailable.

Content Validation for Expectations

Content Validation criteria look inside the files an Expectation matches, so a delivery that satisfies every file-level rule and still carries the wrong columns or unparseable dates fails instead of passing. Supply a TransformScript that reads the parsed data — CSV, XLSX, JSON, YAML, XML, and the HL7, X12, and EDIFACT interchange formats — and decides whether it is acceptable, or let Ask AI write the script for you. Site Administrators configure it on any Expectation, Workspace Administrators within their Workspace.

FedRAMP Security Mode

FedRAMP Security Mode locks six security settings at FedRAMP-required values sitewide, so no administrator can relax them while the mode is on. Only Site Administrators can enable it, and it brings your own site under the controls behind Files.com's FedRAMP 20x Class A Certification. Clear any per-user FTP SSL overrides and return folders on their own storage region to your site default first, or it will not turn on. Legacy clients on plain FTP or legacy SFTP ciphers stop connecting, and turning the mode off does not restore those settings.

Other Minor Updates

This month's smaller updates cover user accounts, Inboxes, Share Links, Event Channels, and scheduling.

Additional Email Recipients on a User Account

Additional Email Recipients put extra addresses on a user account to receive copies of the emails Files.com sends that user, so password expiration reminders aren't buried in one inbox. Emails carrying credentials or download links still go only to the primary address. Site Administrators manage recipients for any user, Workspace Administrators within their Workspace, and Partner Admins within their Partner.

Requested Upload Slots for Inboxes

An Inbox can now ask for a specific set of documents instead of one open drop area. Name each file you want in the Requested Upload Slots setting, like a resume and a signed disclosure, and visitors work down the list, checking each off as it uploads. Every slot files its uploads into its own subfolder. Site Administrators and Folder Admins configure it on any Inbox.

Require Email-Based One-Time Passwords for All Share Links

Site Administrators can require email-based one-time passwords on every new Share Link with the Require email-based one-time passwords for all Share Links setting, instead of relying on each user to secure their own links. Share Links that already exist are not changed.

Custom Email Content for Event Channel Subscriptions

An Event Channel subscription can now carry a Custom Subject and a Custom Message for the notification emails it sends. Site Administrators and Workspace Administrators set both in the subscription settings.

Multiple Days on an Interval Schedule

A weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly interval schedule now takes more than one day, so a semi-monthly payroll run is one Automation on days 1 and 15 rather than one per date. The same applies to Syncs, Expectations, Scheduled Exports, and AI Tasks. Sync schedules now show the day selector that was previously missing, so check the day on any existing monthly Sync.
