The moment an attachment lands in the Inbox, it’s a Files.com file like any other. GPG encryption, automated jobs, syncing to other places, folder permissions, and the audit log all apply. So an emailed file gets the same handling and the same record as one that came in over SFTP.
Emailed files drop into subfolders named after the sender: their name, email, and domain. So two files with the same name from different senders never clobber each other.
