How Files.com Fits With vAuto

vAuto runs on file feeds in both directions. Inventory and appraisal data flow from the dealership’s systems into vAuto, pricing and merchandising data flow back out to listing and DMS systems, and each feed moves over FTP or SFTP on its own schedule and in its own layout.

Files.com is the SFTP layer around those feeds. vAuto and the dealership’s systems deliver to your Files.com site; an Automation validates each file, converts the format the receiving system expects, and routes it to the right folder — or collects inbound data and stages it for vAuto to retrieve. Every transfer is logged, every system is scoped to its own folder, and failed transfers retry instead of stalling a pricing update.

What You Would Use

Managed SFTP For vAuto

Give vAuto and your DMS a stable, monitored SFTP and FTP endpoint with a static IP your team can allowlist — no server to patch and no box of your own exposed to the internet.

Route Each Feed Automatically

An Automation routes each inventory, pricing, or appraisal feed to the right system folder on a schedule, retries on failure, and stages inbound data for vAuto to pick up — without anyone touching a file.

Convert Between Formats

Convert and reshape inventory and pricing data — CSV, XML, and JSON — into the layout each receiving system expects, and extract values to route each feed, before it lands.

Scope Every System

Your DMS, listing sites, and vAuto each get their own folder, their own credentials, and their own permissions — with a full record of every feed sent or received.
