LiveRamp onboards first-party data through file uploads over SFTP. You send customer-data files — the records LiveRamp resolves to identities and distributes to your destinations — on a recurring schedule. The resolution is LiveRamp’s job; the part that breaks is building each upload file correctly, encrypting it the way LiveRamp expects, and getting it there on time.
Files.com is the SFTP endpoint that runs that delivery. Your CRM, point-of-sale, and partner systems send source data to your Files.com site over SFTP, FTPS, or HTTPS; an Automation validates each one, normalizes it into the columns LiveRamp expects, PGP-encrypts it with the right key, and delivers it to LiveRamp on the schedule the onboard runs. Every transfer is logged, so you have a record of exactly which file reached LiveRamp and when.
