SecureTransport goes back through three owners (Valicert in 1998, Tumbleweed in 2003, Axway in 2008) and was built for the old on-prem world: software you install behind your own firewall, set up with paid professional services, and keep a dedicated specialist on staff to run. Cloud was bolted on in the early 2010s. Axway’s own documentation still references customers migrating off SecureTransport 4.7, 4.9, and 5.2 today.

Files.com doesn’t support PeSIT, the Western European banking protocol. The same is true of EBICS, OFTP2, and AS/400 connectivity. The supported protocols are SFTP, FTP, FTPS, and WebDAV, plus AS2 for EDI partner exchange.
